About Nowruz
Nowruz, the new day, is the Persian new year, celebrated for more than three thousand years by Iranian, Afghan, Kurdish, Central Asian and many other communities. It begins at the exact moment of the spring equinox, which in 2027 comes at 4:24 pm Eastern on March 20; in Iran, where it falls late in the evening, the new year is marked on March 21. Celebrations run for thirteen days, ending with Sizdah Bedar outdoors.
The haft-sin and the home
Families spring clean before the new year, visit elders and set a haft-sin table with seven items whose names begin with the letter sin: sprouted greens, apples, garlic and more, beside a mirror, candles and often a book of poetry. Printed decor is not part of the seven, but a family name plaque by the door or a picture frame holding photographs of grandparents suits the visiting days well, and both stay up long after.
What we make
We do not yet have pieces designed for Nowruz itself, so this page lists the family pieces that suit the season. Names print in Latin letters as you type them. Pieces are made to order in our workshop and ship within about five business days. Nowruz mobarak.
Questions about Nowruz
When is Nowruz in 2027?
The new year arrives at the spring equinox, 4:24 pm Eastern on Saturday, March 20, 2027. In Iran the equinox falls late in the evening, so the new year is marked on March 21.
What is the last day to order?
Order by Fri, Mar 5 for Ground shipping or Tue, Mar 9 with Priority Mail.
Can a piece sit on the haft-sin table?
Printed pieces are decor, not one of the seven items. A family name plaque or a picture frame can stand beside the table without touching the food or greens.
Can you print names in Persian script?
Not yet. Our generators set Latin letters only, so names print in the spelling you type.
