Free tools for gifts with meaning
Four small tools that answer a gift question in a minute: what your hometown looks like in contour, what the sky looked like on the night, how a name reads in Morse, and what each anniversary stands for.
Questions
Are the tools really free?
Yes. No account, no email needed to use them. Each result has its own link you can share, and a button that opens the matching piece if you want it made.
Where does the data come from?
Terrain uses the USGS 3D Elevation Program, a public US dataset. Star positions come from the European Space Agency Gaia mission and the IAU Catalog of Star Names; the constellation figures are our own drawing.
Do you keep what I type?
No. An address goes to the US Census Bureau geocoder only to find its coordinates, and the elevation is looked up by coordinates. We keep a cache of elevation grids by rounded coordinates so a repeat is quick, with nothing that links it to you.
