Desk Name Plate
A solid desk name plate that leans back on its own base, your name inlaid flush in a second color, in four finishes.
The Morse finish
On a Fluted piece every flute is the same width. In the Morse finish they are not: a narrow flute is a dot, a wide flute is a dash, and a smooth gap ends each letter. Run a finger along the band and you are reading a name, a date or a word in Morse code.
AVERY: .- / ...- / . / .-. / -.--
The flutes are cut at a fixed rhythm: a dot is one unit wide, a dash three, with half a unit of land inside a letter, two and a half between letters and five between words. The unit is chosen so the message fills the band, between 1.6 and 3.2 mm, so a short name gets bold flutes and a longer one gets finer ones. The same words always give the same rhythm.
Choose Morse in the finish row, then type the name, or the words for the flutes.

Yes. On the name plate, award plaque, key holder and medal hanger there is an optional field for the words in Morse, so the flutes can carry a date, a distance or a short word while the name sits in the panel. Leave it blank and the flutes spell the name.
About 14 letters of a name, or 8 digits of a date, on a desk plate. A long message makes the flutes finer before the plate grows; the page tells you if it will not fit.
The pattern is the Morse code of your words, so the same words always give the same rhythm. What makes it yours is what it says.
Every Morse piece ships with a card that prints the message and its code, dot and dash by letter.
