Bookends, a pair
A pair of fluted bookends weighted with sealed steel shot, a name or a word inlaid along the top of each.
About this piece
Bookends with some weight to them. Each upright is fluted on its outer face and edges and has a sealed slot inside; partway through the print we pour about 150 g of steel shot into the slot and the print closes over the top, so the weight is inside for good. A thin foot slides under the books, and the books themselves help hold the row.
Each bookend carries one word inlaid flush along its top edge in a second color: The and Parkers, two first names, or an initial each. The pair is the same shape turned to face each other.

What is the weight made of?
Steel shot, sealed inside each upright while it prints. There is no lead, and nothing can come out.
How heavy are they?
About 270 g each with the steel. The light version is about 120 g each and relies on the foot under the books.
How many words can I have?
One short word or name on each, up to 10 characters. If you leave the right one blank it repeats the left.
Will they hold tall books?
They are 110 mm tall and suit paperbacks and most hardbacks; tall art books lean over the top.
