About Juneteenth
Juneteenth, on June 19, marks the end of slavery in the United States. It remembers June 19, 1865, when Union troops brought the news of freedom to enslaved people in Galveston, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It became a federal holiday in 2021, and for many families it is a day of reunions, cookouts and remembering who came before.
For the family that gathers
The family name plaque carries the family name and the year the family began, inlaid flush in a second color, and many families choose the Kiln pair of terracotta and sand. A picture frame holds a photograph of grandparents or great grandparents with their names along the edge. For a reunion table, place cards and table numbers carry every name.
Plain words, your words
We keep the wording plain. There are no slogan phrases on our pieces; the words are the ones you type, and personalized pieces are checked against your text before they ship. A planned holiday plaque motif for this day follows the same rule.
