About this piece
A place for the watch at night that shows it off rather than hiding it. The strap closes round an oval pillow that stands out from the side of a fluted column, so the dial faces the room. The pillow is as wide as your strap plus 10 mm and joins the column through a square keyway socket.
The name or initials are inlaid flush 1.2 mm in a second color in the base, and cells under the base are filled with dry sand and sealed by a felt pad, so it stands firm when you slide a watch off. Choose one watch or two, a pillow each side, and add a ring post if you want one.

Will a heavy steel watch tip it?
The base is weighted with sand cells under a felt pad for that reason.

The base carries one line of up to 12 characters, so two sets of initials fit, for example AMR and JTP.
